Previous Nikon D200 was a tremendous combination of photo quality and speed. Now, the company has launched another flagship and inexpensive digital camera - Nikon D3000. It will be tough competitor for Pentax K20D, Olympus E-3, Sony Alpha DSLR-A700 and Canon EOS 40D. Nikon is offering the D300 in three versions: body only, with DX 18-135mm lens and with DX 18-200mm lens.

Drawbacks: A bit more expensive

Design Aspects: Nikon D3000 digital SLR camera is 4.5 inches tall, 5.8 inches wide and 2.9 inches deep and it weighs 1.8 lbs. Nikon has included easy and ultra-flexible menus.

Shooting Speed: The time from power on to first shot is 0.1 second. Shot to shot time is 0.5 second and 0.6 second with flash. The shutter lag is 0.9 second in dim light and 0.5 second in bright light. Continuous shooting speed is 5.8fps (frames per second).

Image Quality: Nikon D3000 dSLR provides the best quality and sharp images with broad tonal range, accurate colors and perfect exposures.
